Feeling Crafty

My mom recently taught me how to use my sewing machine that my mother-in-law got me (thank you both!). I started by making two sets of double-sided napkins, and now I am working on pillows for our couch. I then got a book of hand-sewing projects - I made a felt chicken for Rose and am hoping to start working on some more little animals.

Upcoming projects include some boo-boo pillows for Rose made out of soft flannel, and some small projects for friend's babies. Also - Christmas. Thinking about it already.

I would love to make these, a Biblical theology advent calendar (meaning symbols representing verses throughout the Old and New Testaments that look forward to Jesus' birth, death and resurrection) and stockings. Time to check out books at the library and fun blogs!

Watering a Rose

Two weeks ago we house-sat our friends' home in DC and watered their garden morning and night. On one of the last nights there, Rose made it clear she wanted to enjoy the water, too. We had a good time watering the rose, and Bobby loved taking pictures. Enjoy!

Lunch Box

Me: "Hey, look at the new lunchbox we just bought!"

Bobby: "...Is that for me?"

Me: "No! Rose."

Bobby: "Oh! Cool."
