My New Cabinet!

We were having really extensive mouse problems and not much success in catching them. It was really gross and I finally had some energy to do something about it so I searched Craigslist and found this! It's an Ikea cabinet and (but?) quite fancy looking. We got it for a good price and it came assembled. Sweet! It definitely adds a grown-up feel to our kitchen, which is nice, as sometimes it still feels like we're playing house. : ) I am excited to use it in the future - depending on what our space looks like - to hold dishes, linens, etc.

Also, with cleaning up the old (open) pantry and putting the food behind heavy doors, we caught four mice in two days. There is one Rambo mouse still left. I am pretty sure it's only one and he keeps defying us. Snap traps all around!

Friends have told us that the mouse problem is especially bad this year because of the harsh winter. Can't wait for spring!

Hard to get a good angle, but you can get the idea!

That looks wonderful. I am going out to buy RAT traps today!! We have them under the house and I can hear them at night. Tea goes nuts. I think I may have to sell the house........

Bobby and his Triscuits, you and your couscous. This is definitely your food cabinet.

Haha. I'm giving up sugar and white flour, so now it's even more like that...me and my raw Lara bars, Bobby and his Kettle chips.
We eat the same breakfasts, most lunches, and dinners...just our snacks are different! : )

Cabinet is quite an upgrade regardless of the reason that drove you to do it. I won't tell you details about our rodent problem but we are also making progress at ridding the home of pests. Also great to see tulips in one of the photos - spring is really right around the corner. I bought daffodils last Saturday at the Pleasanton Farmers Market and they opened up beautifully.
