"If You Have a Problem with Butter, Just Use Cream!"

Julia Child is a cultural icon. Her skill, drive and wonderful ability to teach changed the shape of American food culture for the better. Because of her, women felt freed to try new, different and much more difficult things in the kitchen. As a former anthropology student and a person who loves to cook, I just find Child fascinating. So it was with much excitement that we went to the American History Smithsonian and saw her kitchen! We both loved the exhibit and had a blast looking at all her cool tools and gizmos. Enjoy some pictures below.

Sounds obvious, but didn't learn about this until now (Alton Brown): slow cooker oatmeal. I let it cook on low overnight with dried fruits (don't even need to add sugar or syrup when it's done). I know Bobby likes his steel-cut oats.

Hope you're enjoying the South!
