Letters from Louisville?

It just doesn't have the same ring to it.

Our stuff is currently residing in a storage unit in Louisville. Bobby and his friend Philip drove it down Tuesday, unloaded in Wednesday, and then Bobby flew home. I spent the week at my parents, Bobby participated in a friend's wedding this Saturday, and we said good-bye to all the dear saints at CHBC this evening. Tomorrow morning (early!) we leave the District for a one-way road trip to Louisville.

We decided to do this move three weeks ago, after Bobby completed a j-term (one week intensive class) on campus at Southern Seminary. The difference in quality from online to in-class was massive. If we were on-site, Bobby could finish the degree in two years instead of the increasingly arduous five (work full-time plus trips plus class at night?!). So...we started thinking on our drive back to DC after that J-term. We prayed. We sought counsel from people more wise and godly than we. And the Lord opened all the doors.

So, whip-lash? Yah, slightly. I mean...Tuesday of this week Bobby is going to find himself in Hebrew class when usually he'd be heading into work for a full day of writing and editing for 9Marks. Now, it's 9Marks part-time and remotely and school full-time.

But we're so excited. We're going to be joining Third Avenue Baptist, where our good friend Greg Gilbert was recently called to be senior pastor. We're going to be living in a great apartment in a fun complex with a bunch of friends we know from CHBC (and hopefully new ones from Third!). Having lived our married life in LA and then DC, we're excited to move to a city that doesn't have an abbreviated name (just kidding). We're excited to live in a city that doesn't take half your paycheck to pay rent, where groceries are cheaper, things are closer together, and there is more green! Lots of parks! : )

Anyways. The drive is tomorrow. Pray for us as we drive twelve hours with our dear Rose, and pray that we will get settled in well.

And...any suggestions for a new name for the blog? : )

I actually like Letters from Louisville, but how about Keep up with Kentucky,Savour the South, or Sent by Southerners. Let's hope Rosie's first word isn't y'all.
Prayers for safe travel.

Wait, so does Louisville have an abbreviated name?

After looking this up, in a sense, you are still in DC, albeit another one (Derby City).

Title suggestion: Letters from the 'Ville
